يتناول هذا المقرر التعرف على مفهوم النسيج والأزياء ودراسة تاريخهما عبر العصور المختلفة، والتعرف على أنواع المنسوجات المستخدمة عبر العصور التاريخية المختلفة، ودراسة لنسيج كسوة الكعبة المشرفة قبل الإسلام وبعده، والخامات المستخدمة في تنفيذها، ومراحل إنتاجها بمصنع الكسوة في مكة المكرمة. وكذلك دراسة الأنواع المختلفة من الأزياء في العصر المصري القديم واليوناني والروماني، والعصور الإسلامية والأزياء الأوروبية من العصور الوسطى حتى القرن العشرين.

Summary of the main learning outcomes for students enrolled in the course:

This course deals with identifying the concept of textile and fashion study their history through different eras, and to identify the types of textiles used through different historical age, and a study of the fabric covering of the Kaaba before and after Islam, and the raw materials used in their implementation, and the stages of production factory cladding in Mecca, As well as the study of the different types of fashion in ancient Egyptian times, Greek and Roman, and Islamic eras and European fashion from the Middle Ages until the twentieth century.
